Narrative

Provides computer training, evaluation and job training programs throughout the year. School-age student evals on low vision and blindness assistive technology available. Low Vision assessments for adults who need guidance on finding the best devices. Technical services for hardware and software on-site available. Vocational rehabilitation and independent living training. The Carroll Store sells a variety of assistive technology.

During an Assistive Technology Assessment, our expert staff will work with your child to expose them to a variety of both high- and low-tech solutions for accessing a computer, printed material, and viewing a blackboard or other classroom materials for the demands of the school or home setting.

The Carroll Center for the Blind offers a variety of access technology instructional programs that can help blind and visually impaired people use technology proficiently for work and home. Programs are available for individuals as well as teachers and rehabilitation professionals in the use of speech output, screen magnification, braille technology, iPhone, iPad, tablets, Microsoft Office applications and smartphones.
