Narrative

Are you new to the world of autism? If your child has recently been diagnosed, it’s normal to feel a wide range of emotions – sadness, fear, anger, anxiety. No matter what you’re feeling, Autism Resource Center is here to guide you and your family on this journey. Our team of knowledgeable, compassionate professionals and veteran parents will give you the tools to deal with the challenges that autism brings into your life.

The journey through autism doesn’t end when your child becomes an adult. At this stage of life, it’s time to make sure your child has what they need to live an independent, fulfilling life. It’s normal to feel like you’re running out of time to prepare, but don’t worry. Your child is still eligible to receive services from DDS and their school system until they turn 22, so you can still meet with their teachers and providers to make sure their social and medical needs are being met. Once your child turns 18, they can also participate in any of our workshops or employment trainings geared specifically towards adults with autism. Check out what we offer at the center and through our parent organization, Advocates.
