Narrative

Vinfen offers a full range of residential services for people and families to pick from. This range offers varying levels of support. Services go from independent living to highly-supervised settings.

INDIVIDUAL SUPPORTS

Individual Supports is a service model where a person with a developmental or intellectual disability (IDD) lives independently in their own home or apartment. The have as needed support from Vinfen staff. Vinfen works with people and their families to develop a personalized model that meets their needs. This person-centered service is meant to help people reach the highest possible level of independence. They can live happy, productive, and valued lives. Services may include help with:

  • transportation
  • meds administration
  • meal planning
  • managing personal finances (money)
  • social activity planning
  • rep payee services
  • management of benefits

SHARED LIVING

Shared Living is a supported living program. A person, couple, or family share their home and life’s experiences with a person with an intellectual or developmental disability (IDD).

  • Shared Living arrangements closely copy a private home experience.  They maximize the person's independence and quality of life. Shared Living Providers are pre-screened, professionally trained, and matched with a person. They provide a safe and comfortable home setting.

They support the person with tasks such as:

  • meal prep
  • meds administration
  • setting up and giving rides to medical appointments
  • socialization 
  • participation in the community

24-HOUR RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT SERVICES

Our 24-Hour Residential Support Services provide people with IDD with a safe, comfortable home. People are closely connected to family members, friends, and their community. Two to five people typically live together. They have varying levels of staff support ratios based on the needs of the people being served.

Vinfen’s dedicated, highly-trained staff partner with family members, guardians, and other providers. We help people reach their personal goals. We help build skills needed for greater independence. Staff helps people with managing responsibilities of daily life, meal planning and preparation, transportation to medical appointments, managing personal finances.

We work with people to foster social connections, friendships, and community membership. We respecting and celebrate the person's culture, talents, and contributions.

SPECIALIZED RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

Vinfen offers residential services to people with complex needs in the community. We have Specialized Residential Services. We offer residential services to adults who have intensive medical needs. We serve adults with autism, and young adults who are transitioning from living with their families to more independent settings.

EMERGENCY RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

Emergency Residential Services are available for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). They need short-term residential and day supports. The program provides clinical stabilization for people who may be in crisis. They may be in need of temporary housing. Team works to put the person back into their permanent living arrangement.
